This truly shows the awesome size and beauty of this jewel in Sydney’s crown. Then we head to the city and a tour of The Rocks, the oldest part of Sydney, which takes us under the Harbour Bridge to Circular Quay and the Opera House. A refreshments break (at own expense) can be taken here at one of the many delightful and accesssible harbourside cafés. Next we travel via historic Mrs Macquaries Chair and on through the centre of Sydney’s nightlife area Kings Cross, then on towards Watson’s Bay on the South side of the Harbour where a totally different perspective is available of this magnificent harbour city. Finally we head home via the world famous Bondi Beach with time for a short stroll on the level and accessible boardwalk.

Hunter Valley Wine Tour

This is a fully wheelchair accessible 9-hour tour of Sydney’s premium wine region, situated north of the city in the beautiful Hunter Valley. Take a visit to one of Australia’s oldest wine regions. The Hunter Valley is especially well-known for Semillon & Shiraz varietals. With five generations of wine making families and many up & coming ‘young gun’ wine makers, there is a large range of styles to enjoy. Depending on your interests, you can plan your day around visiting famous cellar doors, tasting local produce, visiting local art galleries, take in some of the scenic locations or perhaps enjoying a casual or fine dining experience.

The Blue Mountains Wonderland

blue mountains sydney wheelchair accessible tourTraveling west from Sydney on this 9-hour tour, we pass the historic city of Penrith nestled on the banks of the Nepean River. Then we start our ascent through many charming small towns and villages, stopping first at stylish Leura for a comfort stop, coffee break and perhaps a stroll down the pretty main street. Next we move on to the thriving Blue Mountains capital of Katoomba. Here we will delight in magnificent views of the mountains major valleys, gorges and peaks including the world famous Three Sisters rock formation. The bird and plant life here is exotic and plentiful and there is time to marvel at the mind-expanding beauty and the many wonders of nature.

Next, lunch (at own expense) will be taken at one of many accessible mountain restaurants or coffee houses, according to the taste of the passengers. This will be discussed with the driver en route but could include such places as the newly renovated 19th century Hydro Majestic hotel at Medlow Bath, with its unbelievable views and very pleasant atmosphere.

Now, on to the pretty Rhododendron town of Blackheath. Here there is a no cost option (weather permitting) of a wheelchair accessible walk through a totally unspoiled Australian gum tree forest. An easy 1.8kms (1 mile) stroll, comfortable for both manual and battery powered wheelchairs. This is a truly great experience, which ends at the awe inspiring Govett’s Leap lookout.

But all good things come to an end and so we head back to Sydney via an even more scenic route through the rich fruit growing areas of Bell and Bilpin and two of most historic pioneering towns in Australia, Richmond and Windsor. Time for a comfort stop and the chance to buy a memento or two.
